We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Blog

With an amazingly hectic life!  Egads…

Feeling overwhelmed right now; a bit too much even for me to do (and I’m pretty good at multi-tasking!

When last I left, I had just finished some sugar orchids.  Tuesday was my first day as counselor.  I can’t believe how fast the day goes!  It used to drrrrraaaaaaaaaaggggggggggg when I was in the classroom.  I’ve gotten there at 7am the last two days and haven’t left before 5pm.

Last night My Partner and I had our piano class.  (Yes, we have a piano.  No, neither of us knows how to play it.  But it was pretty and looks good in our house!)  I’ve decided our teacher’s name is Ms. Talksalotbutsayslittle.  Granted, I’m a tough audience given my profession.  But everyone in the class pretty much came to a silent consensus that she sucked last night after she yelled at us for the 50th time because we weren’t doing what she wanted us to do and yet didn’t tell us.  So we did what any room full of adults would do; we got the giggles.  You know the giggles you’d get at the dinner table after your dad yelled at you.  And you look across the table at your brother and blow mashed potatoes out your nose?  Fifteenish adults, giggling.  It was mutiny.

Today was another whirlwind.  Then our Culinary Arts Club met and I showed them how to make sugar cookies.  They were intrigued and ecstatic.  We may around 100 cookies to sell tomorrow to help raise funds for our Spanish Club to get to Spain this summer.

Then home, dinner, laundry, baking two coconut cakes, and soldering wire to make a cake topper.  (Yes, I thought about taking pics to show the process.  No, I didn’t have my camera at home.)

My attendance at the WeHo SNB looks unlikely at this juncture as I still have to make pineapple buttercream.  Tort and ice a 10″ cake.  Then put together a sugar bamboo cage and orchids.  And glue teeny tiny crystals onto the monogram.  WeHo SNBers: Love ya, miss ya, but I think I won’t be seeing ya.

Oh and did I mention all this is in preparation for me to go to Stitches West this weekend?!  That’s the topper: it’s a self-induced craze.

Here, look at my cute puppy dog, Theron.  He’s an almost 11-year-old Wheaten Terrier.  He’s the cutest puppy in the whole, wide world!

You’re right Kristen, here I am complaining (well, not really complaining, more like lamenting?) and there are people in Canada starving for jobs. My bad… :D

Odd; I was just dreaming about taking piano lessons yesterday. I don’t know why - don’t have one and don’t have room for one, but I’ve always wanted to be able to play. Clearly, I won’t be asking for a referral. :)

Theron is adorable. But you didn’t need me to confirm that, did you?!

Unfortunately, I may be missing SnB tonite as well. :( And Catherine is making gingersnaps!!!

It’s hardly worth going tonight, is it? I won’t be there either, as I have to watch a convalescing cat on his first night home from kitty hospital.
