After much ado (possibly about nothing):

What, you’d like to see another one? Alright, if I must…

What? Again? Oh, alright…

Really, one more? Ok, ok…

More?! Alright, if you insist…

Now, really, I must insist that that’s enough. People are going to think I’m egotistical!

WOW.

If between now and the time I turn 60 (plenty of time, and no, I am not some weird stalker) you and I become very good friends, will you make me a cake like that?
It’s truly magnificent!

Tres magnifique, mon ami! The orchids and bamboo look even more real in those pics. What a lucky birthday gal, hope she has the heart to cut it…I know I’d have a hard time!

Although I recently had the good fortune to sample one of your cakes and was amazed that they really do taste as good as they look, you should be locked in a room and forced to make sugar orchids and bamboo for the rest of your life since you are CLEARLY the world’s most gifted sugar flower maker. And that was really your first attempt? Gulp! How the heck did you affix them to those stems and get them to float around the cake like that? I hope you’ll continue to experiment with different flowers and post the photos.

That is perfection.

I don’t think you’re egotistical, you have a right to be proud. It’s an incredible work of art…a masterpiece. YOU ARE A GOD!!!

Frank…I sat at the same table as you at knitting class today. I am checking out your blog, and the photos of your orchid cake are incredible! I want to see a picture of your yarn-ball cake too. Is it posted on your blog somewhere? If not, will you send it to me, pretty please??

Congrats on a “words-fail-me cake” and for not doubting the next time you need to challenge Mother Nature for the sake of a cake. Bravo!

Wow, Frank, that’s even more amazing than I expected. And I expected great things seeing the orchids and bamboo before they were part of the cake. Amazing.

Frank, my mom loved loved loved the cake. The cake had more photo ops than even the bday girl! You should be so proud. Every single person there was incredulous that the flowers (and the bamboo for that matter) were made of sugar and not made by God or MotherNature herself. I cannot thank you enough for making her 60th such a special one. I think you are going to be my official Cake Decorator. Damn, now my mouth is watering just thinking about the cake!

Hi! I came over from CAP’s site and had to see what she was talking about! These pics are absolutely fantastic! I’ve seen fancy cakes and pretty cakes but never anything like this! You are very talented! Wish you lived in Texas!
