Always a Bride’s Maid, Never A Bride…

(I wonder if I am still allowed to wear white?)

WOOHOO! It’s about time! Can I be the matron of honor? :-) Damn, that sounds old!

  2. Marin Says:

I think if you have a kid, you’re not fooling anyone with white.

    Huh.

I guess Miss Manners will have to re-think her criteria.

So… have you picked out a china pattern?

  3. Allison SuperCrafty Says:

I immediately thought of you when I read the news today, and popped on over here. Pretty damn exciting!!

  4. GothamMom Says:

    Mazel Tov!

  5. J. Denae Says:

I was thinking about you too!! I think a nice cream would be fine!

  6. Jan B. Says:

Now if we could just get the stupid state I live in to do the same! Michigan is so full of old poop heads! Yes, off-white works well, but heck, I’d wear RAINBOWS!! :-)

  7. MonkeyGurrl Says:

I thought immediately of you (and one other friend of mine) when I heard the news, and then I second-guessed myself and felt guilty for being stereotype-ridden, but since others have had the same reaction, I feel a little better. Just so you know, I didn’t think of ALL my gay friends, just the ones with kids. :)

I’m going to go see if my other foot will also fit in my mouth now.

I think if it’s a summer wedding - between Memorial Day and Labor Day - you can still pull off white.

Or does that rule only apply to shoes?

  9. Anita Hobbs Says:

Okay, if there is an impending wedding, there must be a ring! Have you been holding out on us, Frank?

White no longer means “virginal” according to most sources. Now it only means you haven’t been married before?

  10. Lisa Says:

I just heard!!! WOW congrats - guess now there is no reason for you to come up north - other than having me make your cake! ;)

  11. Rebecca S Says:

Woohoo!! Now, who’s gonna make your cake!?!?!?

  12. Andree Says:

Make sure you let me know where you register!

  13. Kyle Kunnecke Says:

it’s official (at least till the possible next obstacle next November) - it’s about time equal rights were actually equal!

  14. Adele Says:

Woo hoo!!!! I think we’re ALL going to make your cake together- now wouldn’t that be a hoot? :D Dang, I’m near teary at the thought.

There are some groups which are already gearing up to put a measure on the November ballot to overturn this momentous decision.
You can make a contribution to the Human Rights Campaign, a partner of Equality for All. They have set up a special fund to fight against the anti-marriage initiative! Don’t let them take away what the courts have FINALLY granted!

I think you could pull off a white suit…but there’s just something about a guy in a traditional dark suit with a white shirt…..

I hope this law makes it all the way….

  16. sappmama Says:

Baby, you can wear any damn color you want.

  17. Rachel Says:

Woohoo! I’m glad some people live in a progressive state. Mine’s so backward about this sort of thing, it’s just pitiful. We had that dumb “marriage amendment” on the ballot. People had bumper stickers that said, “Vote YES for Marriage”. I took great pleasure in coming home after having voted to tell my husband that I voted AGAINST marriage - at least in the vernacular of the pinheads.

I think it’s awesome that you have the right - even if y’all choose not to exercise it. It’s about time you get a chance to define your family the way you want. Yippee!

  18. Mama Llama Says:

On second thought, Frank…do you still have your prom tux :-)?

  19. Lori Says:

I’m with sappmama…wear any damn color you want!!! (I did like your pink prom outfit though.)

This is great news!!!…I do hope that last obstacle is cleared in November. Shame on those narrow minded, assinine people who will try to overturn this. I hope for once their “holier than thou” attitude gets crammed right back down their throats.

  20. Lauren Says:

Yay for California judges! (How often can you say THAT??)

Ivory is much more flattering than white. I’d go ivory.

  21. Em Says:

Yay!!! Yippeeeee! WoooHooo! Yahoo!!! Hmm… how else can I say I”M SO HAPPY for you guys!!! Now if only the rest of this screwed up nation would get their heads on straight… ! Yay Frank!

  22. Shelly Says:
