While not sleeping last night (seriously, I slept for maybe 4 hours last night), I kept thinking about how much I’d like to sew something for him (other than the jeans that are on the cutting table). I also kept thinking about how it needed to be something relatively easy (unlike a lot of the Ottobre patterns I have, which require tracing the pattern from the book, copying onto fabric, cutting out, figuring out, etc.).
Then I remembered this tutorial at Habitual. Voila! I had my instant gratification sewing for Oliver!
So this morning after he went down for his nap, I created this for My Little Giant for this hot day ahead of us (it’s supposed to get to near 100 degrees again today!):
Could I have asked for a better “model” look on his face?!
Now off to find something cool to do…

He is so gorgeous! I love the shirt too!!! Maybe there’s a long sleeved version for those of us who actually have seasons! (it’s been long pants around here for a week or two)… I love the fabric you used! It really looks great on Oliver!

Holy. Cow.
He is ADORABLE! What a great top!!!!
I have a long-sleeve modification coming!
I so glad you enjoyed the pattern – that is EXACTLY why I created it – instant gratification for master sewers and confidence-building for newbies!

I swear if that kid gets anymore gorgeous!!!

Ohhhhh..what kind of fabric? Knit or sheeting or what? Want to reach out of the screen and touch the fabric (it’s the only way I can shop for fabric or appreciate it). What a great print–and doesn’t he look like a doll wearing it.
Congratulations for doing away with the PICC line and all the rest of it!

Very cute, nice and easy to wear. The fabric is awesome!
Reminds me of the Japanese baby clothes my kids used to wear. The undershirts were made like that, so that you could just lay the baby on the open shirt and voila, baby was dressed!

let’s talk about that fabric – I love it – what is it?? He’s such a doll!! Off to check out that link – thanks!!!
