Wow, what an end of the week and weekend!
Much of last week was spent preparing for my first cake order since I my cancer-imposed hiatus. Luckily I had, um, some help to make things easier.
Speaking of which, this was from the first time he helped Daddy bake cakes!
The good part is now he can help with cleaning up (while watching TV!)!
Of course that still leaves me the job of cleaning HIM up.
Then on Friday we did a dress rehearsal for Halloween in the new cowboy shirt Daddy made him (and almost didn’t live to tell about! Faux suede is NOT FUN!).
Saturday Oliver and I delivered the scary (in more than one sense!) Halloween birthday cake.
And after a short nap, it was time to walk the horse and prepare for the Trick or Treaters!
This year Papa spooked-up the fountain by adding some dry ice. Oooooh…
And Daddy sported red-eyes to give add to that scary, Halloween look.
And Oliver did well at distributing treats with the exception of to those wearing masks, which freaked him out too much.
Sunday was a mellow day which ended with us eating the top tier of our wedding cake to celebrate our first wedding anniversary!
(This isn’t the top tier, it’s the whole cake!)

Where to start – that Birthday cake is AMAZING!!!! I’m sure it’s all the extra love from your helper. Who, also, is AMAZING!! That shirt might not have been fun, but it was certainly worth the effort! Looks like y’all had a wonderful Halloween. I’m so happy for you. And congratulations on the anniversary!! A whole year, already?

Happy anniversary! I can’t believe it has been a year.
Also, where did that big boy come from and what did you do with the baby that used to help you bake cakes? I can’t believe how much he has grown.
Looks like a wonderful weekend.

Congratulations on your first anniversary! oliver is such a cute Lil’ Cowpoke. Halloween is so much fun when you’re a kid. I always liked it way better than Christmas when I was little.
Love Papa’s spooked up fountain too!

Congratulations on your first! Here’s to many more! Having made many cakes with several different helpers, I can attest to the fun of cleaning them up. Some were easier then others lol.
And the costume is awesome! Brings back memories of my childhood and Mom sewing for 5 of us.

Happy Anniversary!
Oliver looked very cute in his costume. The shirt turned out great, even if it was an unpleasant experience. He looks like he’s having a blast, and that’s what really matters. He has such a genuine smile, I just love it.
