precious boy! I love how he did’t bother to take the pacifier out of his mouth and just sort of nonchalantly says the word “book”. I am sure you wanted to do back flips! I know I wanted to do one when my 7 month old recently clapped for the first time!

Yes, there was a definite DA(d) in there! He also looked at the side of the road when you said it. I’d say he’s right on the verge of making the breakthrough. We’ll need another video then.

Oh, Frank. I LOL’d when you said you’d leave him at the side of the road. Is he saying “Dad”? It sounded like he was saying “Dad” at one point. Maybe he has his own name for you, and you just have to listen for it. My stepson is called Andy, and G would say “DiDi” (just the last syllable, repeated twice), but it took us a while to realize that he was talking about his brother.

He’s so cute!

When my nephew was learning to talk, he would call my BIL Daddy but my sister he would call by her first name “Kasia” or he’d call her “Kas”. We figured out it was because my sister would call BIL “Daddy” in front of him, but my BIL would call my sister Kas.

From when Jimmy learnt to talk 3 years ago, I was Aunty Neil cause he couldn’t say Taneile. It has stuck and I am still Aunty Neil.

What a cutie!!!
Just keep saying Daddy over and over and he will get it – I think because we label everything else except ourselves to them they pick up the words heard all the time.
Ask hubby to say Daddy all the time as well!

When my daughter was 2, she was riding in her car seat in the back seat. She started to choke on something. Knowing that if she could talk, she was ok until I could pull over, I kept trying to get her to say, “mommy”. After a few helpless moments, she burst out with “daddy”!
